Naked Cakes

Naked cakes, which are wedding cakes with unfrosted sides, have become a more common sight at weddings recently. “Instead of totally bare tiers, translucent cakes have a thin veil of frosting with just a bit of the cake showing,” explains to The Knot. “Typically iced in buttercream, these sweet delights are topped with fresh flowers or in-season fruits that hint at the flavours of the cake filling.” These barely frosted delights are a beautiful sight at any reception.

Metallic Dresses

Hello shimmer and shine! In 2017, brides are letting their bridesmaids standout with sparkly dresses – gold, silver and metallic beading. Not only to does the bridal party look on point, they shimmery details will help make your photos with your girlfriends pop!

Multi-pattern invitations

Just like in fashion, invitation trends take their cues from the runway. In 2017, the “invitation runway” is loving the idea of mixing two patterns together, like florals and stripes. The best way to embrace this trend, is to use the patterns on the backs of the cards or as the envelope liners.

Eat local

This year is all about infusing local pride into your wedding day. The best way to do this is to have local flavours take the spotlight during the meal. Use a local delicacy or incorporate the field-to- fork method to being your local cuisine to life on your big day.

Let them have games

This trend is our favourite of all – having games at your wedding! Incorporate Mad Libs about your and your fiance into the wedding programs, a games table during cocktail hour, or if you are having an outdoor wedding and reception, why not have lawn games set up for your guests to enjoy into the night.
